Stay on air through the dead zones.

MenchBox keeps your IRL stream live when your signal drops. Viewers see your BRB (be right back) clips while you’re gone. You can go live from just your phone, on Kick, Twitch and YouTube at the same time, with no PC at home.

$10 per seat a month. 3 days free, no card needed.

Where you stream

  • KickLive
  • TwitchLive
  • YouTubeLive

Go on, cut the signal. The stream stays up, and your picture comes back when the signal does.

This is a simulation, and the clip is just our sample. On a real stream your own clips start about 4 seconds after the signal is gone. MenchBox holds your stream for 15 minutes, or for as long as you set, up to 4 hours.

Works with Moblin on iPhone, IRL Pro and Cx Live on Android, Larix, BELABOX and anything else that sends SRTLA, SRT or RTMP.

Live in three steps

  1. Connect your phone.

Open Setup in MenchBox on your iPhone and tap Open in Moblin. Your settings come with it. On Android, IRL Pro opens the same way. Setup then checks your video and tells you if anything needs changing.

  2. Choose where you stream.

Connect your Kick, Twitch or YouTube account and MenchBox handles the stream key.

  3. Go live.

Start your phone app, then press Go live in MenchBox. Viewers see you about 10 seconds later.

That’s the whole setup if you stream without a PC. Adding OBS, Streamlabs or Meld on your own PC is a one-time setup.

Start with a phone, add your PC later

  • Just your phone.

No PC and no OBS. Your phone sends the video, MenchBox passes it on to your platforms and puts your BRB clips on air whenever your signal drops. Overlays and alerts you add in your streaming app go out with your picture.

  • Your phone and OBS, Streamlabs or Meld at home.

Have your scenes and overlays in OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop or Meld Studio at home? Keep using them. MenchBox sends your phone’s video to it and switches its scenes when your signal changes. If that PC or your home internet goes down, MenchBox keeps your platforms live. There’s nothing to install and no port forwarding.

  • From your desk, and back out.

Stream from your PC through MenchBox with one upload for all your platforms. Heading out? Move the live stream to your phone with one tap, and back again when you’re home. It takes about 2 seconds and viewers stay on the same stream.

You get up to 5 devices per seat. That can be phones, a BELABOX backpack, an action cam or a laptop. With OBS, Streamlabs or Meld you can switch between them while you’re live.

No cloud OBS. That’s why it’s $10.

Most services that keep an IRL stream on air do it by renting you a computer in a data centre that runs OBS for you. That computer is what you pay for, and those plans run from about $30 to $180 a month.* A few services skip the cloud OBS as well. The ones we know of start at $25 a month.*

MenchBox keeps you on air without one. Your phone sends your video to MenchBox, MenchBox passes it on to your platforms, and if your signal drops it plays your BRB clips. You can add overlays and alerts in your phone’s streaming app. If you want full OBS scenes, the OBS on your own PC does that for free, and MenchBox controls it for you.

What you get

When your signal drops

  • Your BRB clips go on air. Upload up to 15 clips. They play shuffled in place of a frozen picture.
  • Viewers stay on the same stream. Your chat, your VOD and the stream timer carry on, and nobody has to refresh.
  • You decide how long MenchBox waits before it ends the stream.
  • Hear it on your phone. MenchBox tells you out loud in Moblin when your battery runs low or one of your bonded connections drops, while you can still fix it.
  • Your connection on stream. Add a small overlay to OBS or Moblin that shows your bitrate and each bonded connection, so viewers can see what your signal is doing.

Where you stream

  • Up to 3 platforms at once. Kick, Twitch and YouTube, or anything else that takes RTMP or SRT with a stream key.
  • No re-encoding. MenchBox passes your picture on as it is, so nothing gets softer on the way through.
  • Stream info from your phone. Change your title and category on your connected channels before you go live or while you’re on air.

In your hand

  • The quick panel. A control page on your phone to go live, switch to BRB, end the stream and keep an eye on your bitrate. It opens inside Moblin too.
  • Buttons for your Stream Deck. Go live, BRB and End stream each have a link you can put on a Stream Deck or an iPhone Shortcut.
  • Discord alerts. Get a message when your stream starts, a device disconnects or a BRB clip goes on air.

With OBS, Streamlabs or Meld at home

  • Scenes that switch by themselves. Your Live, Low-signal and BRB scenes follow how your connection is really doing.
  • Your phone covers for your PC. If your PC or home internet goes down mid-stream, your phone or your clips take over.

For your chat

  • Text to speech for Kick. Viewers spend channel points to have a message read out on stream. It plays through Moblin on your phone or through your OBS.
  • Chat commands for your mods. Your moderators can put BRB on or change your title by typing a short command in your Kick or Twitch chat. You decide who can use what, and MenchBox can tell your chat when your signal drops.

Questions

Do I need a PC or OBS?

No. You can go live with just your phone. It sends the video to MenchBox, and MenchBox sends it to your platforms. If you want full scenes later, add OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop or Meld Studio on your own PC. MenchBox works with your phone alone and with your PC, and you can move a live stream from one to the other.

What happens when my signal drops?

About 4 seconds after your signal is gone, viewers see your BRB clips. If you haven’t uploaded any, they see a simple “We’ll be right back” card. When your signal returns, your picture comes back a few seconds later, and it’s been one stream the whole time. If you’re gone for more than 15 minutes, MenchBox ends the stream. You can change that to anything up to 4 hours.

What is a cloud OBS, and why don’t I need one?

OBS is the free program streamers use for scenes and overlays. A cloud OBS is that program running on a rented computer in a data centre, and the rent is why it costs so much. MenchBox keeps you on air without one. If you want what OBS does, use the one on your own PC. Streamlabs Desktop and Meld Studio do the same job, and MenchBox works with them too.

Which apps and devices work?

We recommend Moblin on iPhone and IRL Pro on Android. Both can use several connections at once (that’s called bonding), so one bad network doesn’t take you down. Cx Live on Android, Larix, a BELABOX backpack, OBS on a laptop and anything else that sends SRTLA, SRT or RTMP work too. If you stream without a PC, your phone needs to send H.264 video and AAC sound.

Where can I stream?

Kick, Twitch and YouTube. Connect your account and MenchBox looks after the stream key. Other platforms work with a stream key you paste, as long as they take RTMP or SRT. You can stream to 3 at the same time, and they all get the same picture.

Can I use overlays and alerts?

Yes, in two ways. You can add them in your phone’s streaming app. Moblin, IRL Pro and Cx Live, for example, let you put overlays right on your picture. MenchBox passes your picture on as it is, so viewers see them. If you use OBS, Streamlabs or Meld at home, everything you build there goes out exactly as it is.

Does MenchBox work with Streamlabs Desktop?

Yes. You can use Streamlabs Desktop on your PC in place of OBS Studio. Where this page says OBS, that goes for Streamlabs too. A few things work differently. MenchBox can’t show you a picture of your Streamlabs scenes before you go live. The picture shows up once your stream runs through MenchBox. When you go live or end a stream from MenchBox, Streamlabs may ask you to confirm on your PC first. MenchBox turns that question off during setup when it can. If you use Dual Output in Streamlabs, you turn it off to stream through MenchBox. If Streamlabs closes by accident while you’re live, MenchBox can’t start its stream again by itself the way it can with OBS. You start it again yourself.

Does MenchBox work with Meld Studio?

Yes. You can use Meld Studio on your PC in place of OBS Studio. Meld lets other apps do less than OBS, so you do a bit more of the setup yourself, once. MenchBox can’t make scenes or add sources in Meld, so you make your scenes and add a few MenchBox layers. Setup gives you the links and shows what’s still missing. Your phone comes into Meld through a small MenchBox player that you add as a layer. You also add MenchBox as an output in Meld by hand, and switch off the window Meld shows before it goes live, so Go live works from your phone. MenchBox can’t show you a picture of your Meld scenes before you go live. If Meld closes by accident while you’re live, you start it again yourself.

How do I end a stream?

On the quick panel in MenchBox, use Hold to end stream. That works in every setup. If you stream with just your phone, stopping the app looks like a lost signal to MenchBox. Viewers see your BRB clips until the app streams again, for as long as you set, and then the stream ends. With Moblin you can turn on “End in Moblin ends the stream” in Scenes if you’d rather end there. While viewers see your phone, locking it or closing Moblin then ends the stream too.

What is a seat?

A seat is one streamer. It’s your own account with up to 5 devices and one live stream at a time. Two streamers need two seats.

How does the free trial work?

You get 3 days and you don’t need a card. You start it by connecting the Kick or Twitch channel you stream on, and each channel gets one trial. During the trial you can use 2 devices, stream to the 2 channels you connected and upload 2 clips. Platforms that need a pasted stream key come with a subscription. Nothing is charged when the trial ends. If you want to keep going you subscribe, and your setup is waiting for you. Only a limited number of trials run at the same time. If they’re all taken, MenchBox tells you when the next one opens.

Can I cancel, and do I get money back?

You can cancel any time in MenchBox. You keep MenchBox until the month you paid for ends, and nothing more is charged. A month you’ve paid for isn’t refunded. If you change your mind in the first 14 days, you can withdraw by writing to us and get the unused days back. The details are in the Terms.

Does MenchBox bond my connections?

Your app does that part. Moblin, IRL Pro and BELABOX combine mobile data and Wi-Fi into one stream (the technical name is SRTLA), and MenchBox receives it. MenchBox doesn’t sell SIM cards or data.

What can’t MenchBox do?

It can’t make signal where there is none, and it doesn’t record your streams. Overlays and alerts come from your streaming app, or from OBS, Streamlabs or Meld at home, and MenchBox passes them on. It covers your signal, your PC and your home internet. If MenchBox itself restarts or loses a platform, your stream can drop for a moment, so on Kick it’s worth turning on Kick’s own disconnect protection too. On a very busy day MenchBox can be full. Then your stream waits and goes live by itself as soon as there’s room.

Where does MenchBox run?

You choose a streaming server when you set up. Right now that’s Europe or USA. Pick the one closest to where you stream from, because the further away it is, the longer your video takes to get there. You can change it later.

Who can use MenchBox?

You must be at least 18 years old, or old enough where you live to make an agreement like this one by yourself.
